Students seeking admission to M.Sc Biotechnology must have passed B.Sc degree of Bangalore University or any other University with a minimum 50% of marks in all the three optional in aggregate. The applicant should have studied Chemistry or Biotechnology as a compulsory subject along with any one of the following subjects.

Opportunities for Biotechnology students exist in agri-based industries involved in production of transgenic plants, seed industries, tissue culture units, agri chemicals such as biofertilisers & biopesticides, environmental amelioration, Pharmaceutical Industries for diagnostics, vaccines, new drug molecules, clinical research organization and bioinformatics industry. Opportunities also exist in in research and development, production and manufacturing, quality control and analysis.
